Canapés Recipe

A healthy Veg snacks recipe which is made from protein rich sprouts yet very delicious.

Usually children don't like green veges or sprouts. This is a very easy way to trick your kids and make them eat sprouts and salads. This is a baked veg recipe and easy to prepare so its ideal for get togethers, parties and even welcome snacks.

Few tips:-

Always prepare the filling just before serving.

If you don't have canapés follow my canapés which I made from brown bread in just few minutes.

Ingredients:

 Homemade bread canapés 10
( to make each canapé cup you need 1 standard brown bread slice)
Black Chana/Brown Chick Peas 1/3 cup
Moong dal/Green Gram sprouts 1/3 cup
Onion 2 tablespoon finely chopped
Tomato 2 tablespoon finely chopped
Tamarind sauce/chutney or readymade tamarind sauce 1/2 tsp
Chaat masala 1 and 1/2 tablespoon. I have used Everest, but any is fine.
Sev chura 1 tsp for garnish(optional)( Available in Indian Stores)
Little bit of cheese and sweet corn for garnishing.

Method:-

Take black Chana and moong sprouts, boil them for 3 minutes. Don't over boil, it should be crunchy.

Take a mixing bowl, add the black Chana and moong sprouts. Add finely chopped onion, tomatoes, chat masala and tamarind sauce. Mix all the ingredients properly and keep aside.

Now we will make the canapés. Pre heat oven to 180 degree C. Remove the crusts from all the bread slices.

Use a pastry cutter to cut out 1 disc from each bread. Apply butter on the muffin cups. Place the round bread pieces on the muffin cups and press little. Bake for 10 minutes at 180 deg C.

Take out and let it cool for few minutes. The canape cups will easily come out.

Now fill each cup with the black chana and moong mixture. Garnish each cup with sev, cheese, sweet corn.

Your healthy snacks is ready. You have tricked your children in having bread and veggies.

Serve immediately.
